This is a 100% remote position for a qualified accountant with a background in the charity or non-profit sector. This is a most unusual opportunity and wonderful role that combines remote working with the intellectual rigour of accountancy whilst working in a sector that does real good in society! You will be working for a major UK charity and will have the chance to build a high performing team around you. In this role, you will be a key appointment and will be working in the most financially successful part of this global organisation. What makes this organisation special is that they help raise funds for global causes, coordinate giving, and ensure good governance so that donors and charities can focus on outcomes. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day internal controls and operations, leading U.K.-based accounting processes.
  • Review and issue timely client financial statements with analysis to ensure accurate information has been recorded and reported to clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage client cash flow, banking relationships, investment accounts, audit and tax processes.
  • Develop and manage annual budget and cash forecasting system for clients.
  • Support development of annual organizational budget, consolidating client financials for aggregate reporting.
  • Lead the audit, statutory reporting, and tax compliance process for U.K. entities in coordination with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Supervision of Senior Accountant(s).

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • A very good understanding of donor grant agreements, grant management and restricted grant accounting
  • A background in non-profit or charitable organisation (essential)
  • Understanding of UK Tax and charity regulations
