This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing Financial Institutions team in a broad, business-facing role. Working closely with senior management, you will support business planning, strategic initiatives, performance reporting and cross-functional coordination across multiple business areas. The successful candidate will gain exposure to Financial Institutions, Corporate Banking and Treasury while working with a wide range of internal stakeholders including Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Internal Audit and Technology.

My client, a well-established international bank in the City of London, is looking to hire an experienced FI Business Analyst to support the Financial Institutions team.

Location: City of London

Work style: 100% office based

Salary: up to £50,000

Languages: Fluent Mandarin and English

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Deputy Head of Financial Institutions with business planning, budgeting, KPI tracking and departmental strategy.
  • Assist in preparing management information (MI), business reports and presentations for senior management, Head Office and regulators.
  • Coordinate business activities across Corporate Banking, Treasury and the Financial Institutions teams, ensuring actions and projects are delivered on time.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including Finance, Operations, Client Onboarding, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Internal Audit and FinTech to support day-to-day business management.
  • Monitor the Financial Institutions portfolio, identifying changes in counterparty credit quality and preparing reports to support business decisions.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of internal control frameworks, policies and operational procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with business governance activities including audit follow-up, risk management actions, KYC/AML coordination and new product approval processes.
  • Prepare market research, industry analysis and macroeconomic reports covering the UK financial market, providing insights to senior management, Head Office and regulators.
  • Coordinate departmental events including seminars, networking events, client meetings and roadshows, managing logistics, budgets and external suppliers.
  • Monitor departmental operating budgets, invoices, membership subscriptions and event expenditure to ensure effective cost management.
  • Participate in business improvement initiatives and support ad hoc projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Degree educated.
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience within banking or financial services.
  • Previous experience supporting Financial Institutions, Corporate Banking, Treasury or a Business Management / Business Analyst function would be highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and produce high-quality management reports.
  • Good understanding of wholesale banking products and Financial Institutions business.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across different business functions.
  • High level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent English is essential. Mandarin language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
