This is a fabulous new role for someone based in (or close to) Ellesmere Port. We are looking for a Warehouse Manager/Supervisor and the role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading people, keeping busy, solving problems and making sure everything runs smoothly without having the pressure of being responsible for the entire supply chain operation. Your focus will be on ensuring that the warehouse runs smoothly every day and you will be coordinating a team of people who will help you achieve this. The company is a food exporter and importer, so it really helps if you love food and cooking! It's a satisfying role for someone who likes getting things done.

Location: Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 + benefits

Duties: This is a very busy role indeed in which you will be walking around the warehouse rather than sitting behind a desk. You are a bit like the conductor of an orchestra making sure that everything keeps moving along and that deadlines are met. This is a very busy warehouse indeed and there are thousands of products, so you need to demonstrate a cool head under pressure and the ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time. 70% people management, 20% warehouse operations and 10% reporting/Excel. It's a great role for someone who enjoys leading a team, being active, solving practical problems and taking pride in running an efficient operation, rather than spending most of the day at a desk.

  • Helping and supporting the warehouse team
  • Motivating, managing, training and nurturing the team
  • Check what orders need shipping that day.
  • Brief the warehouse team.
  • Decide who will unload deliveries, who will pick orders and who will load the lorries.
  • Make sure everyone knows the priorities.
  • Ensuring that orders go out on time and check if anyone is falling behind
  • Managing stock availability
  • Advanced use of Excel to update stock figures, monitor picking errors and manage the team's KPIs
  • Creating regular performance reports
  • Dealing with customers chasing urgent deliveries or missing pallets

25% of the role will be office based & the rest will involve moving around the warehouse.

Requirements: Advanced Excel (filters/pivot tables and basic formulae), SAP, Previous warehouse management experience.
