Job Title: Court of Protection Newly Qualified Solicitor
Location: North London
Salary: £42,000 – £55,000/year + bonus
Job Type: Full-time (hybrid)
Please note that exposure in Wills, Probate or Court of Protection work is essential for this role, and we kindly ask that only candidates with relevant experience apply.
A highly regarded Legal 500 firm based in North London is seeking a Court of Protection NQ Associate to join its well-established Private Client department. This is a specialist role within the Property and Affairs area of Court of Protection work, dealing with complex and high-value estates. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, empathetic solicitor with a genuine interest in Court of Protection work. You should have a strong ability to build lasting client relationships and maintain high professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a caseload of Court of Protection matters (Property & Affairs)
- Work closely with the Deputy, the OPG, clients, and their families to ensure decisions are made in the best interests of the individual
- Prepare and manage Court applications, including Statutory Will applications
- Attend and represent the Deputy at Court of Protection hearings
- Investigate suspicions of financial abuse
- Handle estate administration matters where relevant
Requirements:
- ideally Exposure in Court of Protection (Property & Affairs)
- Solid experience in managing files independently
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Strong communication and client-handling skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly
- Attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset
