This is a varied and dynamic role combining both managerial and delivery responsibilities, supporting the day-to-day running of the Single Point of Access and Specialist Child Weight Management programme. You will work closely with the Head of Service and SPOA Co-ordinator to ensure effective service delivery, coordinate staff and resources, and support performance, quality, and service development. Alongside this, you will contribute to frontline delivery, providing personalised support to children, young people, and families, while working collaboratively with stakeholders to improve engagement, outcomes, and overall service impact.
Main duties of the job include:
- Assisting the Head of Service and SPOA Co-ordinator by coordinating staff, overseeing calendars, and working closely with the administration team to ensure effective service delivery and session cover.
- Acting as a key point of contact for delivery staff, supporting line management through 1:1s and PDPs, leading on specific programme development areas, and contributing to training and onboarding of staff and volunteers.
- Monitoring and driving performance against KPIs, analysing and reporting data, attending performance meetings, and working collaboratively with stakeholders and system partners to improve engagement and outcomes.
- Overseeing patient flow, ensuring data quality and completeness through regular audits, supporting clinical governance processes, and contributing to financial and operational tasks like venue coordination, expense processing, and reporting on service progress.
- Providing personalised, age-appropriate interventions to children, young people, and families, including physical activity sessions, behaviour change support, and weight management guidance.

Your key responsibilities will be:
- To assist the Head of Service and SPOA Co-Ordinator in the day-to-day running of the Single Point of Access and Specialist Child Weight Management programme.
- To be a point of contact for delivery staff queries.
- Assembling and coordinating staff to facilitate delivery: overseeing staff calendars; liaising with the admin team, coordinating staff to provide session cover when necessary.
- Leading on developing certain areas of the programme according to the service plan.
- Accountability towards tracking and achieving service KPIs.
- Undertaking service observations and providing valuable performance-driven feedback.
- Supporting the line management of staff by performing staff 1:1s and PDPs.
- Overseeing and monitoring stakeholder activity and targets across all areas.
- Undertaking data preparation and analysis as requested by management and attending key monthly meetings for internal and external performance boards.
- Working with system partners and stakeholders to design, deliver, and evaluate the service engagement.
- Tracking and managing patient flow and outcomes through the system.
- Coordinating the booking, risk assessing, and use of various delivery venues.
- Supporting with financial duties including the processing of staff expenses and invoices relating to the project.
- Leading on the updating of data where data completeness is an issue.
- Contributing to clinical governance procedures.
- Constantly monitoring and reporting on progress of the project.
- Contributing to training and support of new staff and volunteers.
Delivery responsibilities include:
- Delivering safe personalised, age-appropriate, one-to-one group exercise interventions, behaviour change, and physical activity advice to children, young people, and families.
- Preparing and setting up venues in a safe manner.
- Having a thorough understanding of the curriculum/teaching resources and being confident in the delivery of such.
- Session planning including preparing the correct handouts, materials, and equipment for the session.
- Discussing weight loss/gain with clients and monitoring weekly weight loss/gain and attendance against set targets.
- Client contact calls to ensure attendance and chase non-attendance.
- Supporting a team of staff to deliver a quality-driven service spanning a range of interventions within the specialist services.
- Engaging and recruiting potential clients at promotional and community events.
- Covering delivery where necessary.

Person Specification:
- Qualifications: Degree in nutrition and registered with Association for Nutrition (AFN), as a Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr). REPS qualified Level 3 award of GP/Exercise Referral or equivalent (willingness to be trained within 4 months of starting).
- Experience: In-depth experience delivering weight management and physical activity to specialist populations including children and young people in both 1-1 and group settings. Demonstrable experience of administrative, leadership, and reporting. Relevant experience in working with families and/or young people in a community/hospital setting. Knowledge and experience of engaging priority groups in a healthcare setting. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrable experience of leading and managing teams in a health, public health, or community setting. Experience of planning and delivering appropriate health interventions specific to individual requirements. Experience of delivering engagement and commissioning activities. Experience managing change and leading service improvements.
