Our brand‑new Middlesbrough site is our largest yet and is equipped to handle a high volume of work.
As a Recovery Driver, you will ensure safe delivery / collection of all customers' vehicles. You will be responsible for marking all damage on vehicles with chalk pen before taking images.
Responsibilities of a Recovery Driver will include:
- Complete all Job Pack paperwork neatly and legibly and obtain signatures where required.
- Ensure Customer Vehicle Condition Report is complete in addition to any images taken before passing to Estimators.
- Comply with the Drivers Tacho Break Regulation 2009 (if applicable).
- Policy Excess, VAT Bills and Private Quotes – ensure payment has been taken before leaving site – if payment has not been paid, query with the Transport Manager.
- Ensure courtesy cars are up to standard and safe for customer use.
- Report any defects or damage to Transport Manager immediately.
- Ensure you follow the correct procedure when dealing with customer complaints.
- Move cars in/out of the workshop at the start or end of the day.
- Wash customer or courtesy cars where necessary.
Skills and experience required as a Recovery Driver:
- Must be over 21 and have a full UK driving license.
- Driver Qualification Card C1E or CE licence categories.
- You will be required to drive various vehicles within the driving license categories you hold.
- Requires regular physical activity, including the movement and securing of vehicles, as well as lifting equipment.
- Digi Driver Card.
- Experience in vehicle recovery is preferable.
- Team Player who uses initiative, be flexible and have a can‑do attitude.
- Cultural and organisational insight and takes responsibility for own actions.
