As an MET Technician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring all vehicle repairs are completed safely, accurately and to manufacturer and industry standards.
Responsibilities of a MET Technician will include:
- Inspecting vehicle structure, mechanical components and paintwork
- Ensuring vehicles meet all safety requirements prior to handover
- Removing, storing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components
- Safely handling and disposing of vehicle fluids and gases
- Reassembling vehicles following repair, carrying out detailed quality checks
- Performing 4‑wheel alignments where required
- Completing quality control checks, final sign‑off and ATA documentation
- Identifying and reporting faults or additional repair requirements
- Maintaining tools, equipment and a clean, safe working environment
- Following approved repair methods and ensuring documentation is accurate and visible
- Carrying out vehicle safety checks, beam settings and recording warnings on job cards
- Ensuring all safety‑critical components are fitted and torqued to specification
Skills and experience required as a MET Technician:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in motor vehicle body repair
- Auto electrical qualifications and practical experience
- Knowledge of computerised wheel alignment systems
- Strong mechanical and suspension knowledge
- A full UK driving licence
- Recognised Air Conditioning and Encapsulated Glass training (preferred)
- A flexible, team‑focused approach with a positive attitude
- High levels of professionalism, accountability and attention to detail
