Our Waltham Cross site is expanding, and we’re looking for an experienced Recovery Driver to join the team and contribute to its ongoing success. Key responsibilities:
As a Recovery Driver, you will ensure the safe and efficient collection and delivery of customer vehicles, maintaining high standards of care and professionalism at all times. Your main duties will include:
- Contacting each customer prior to arrival
- Completing all Job Pack paperwork neatly and legibly, obtaining signatures where required
- Completing Customer Vehicle Condition Reports and taking supporting images before handover to Estimators
- Following all procedures outlined in the Drivers Procedure and Process Manuals
- Complying with Drivers Tacho Break Regulation 2009 (if applicable)
- Ensuring Policy Excess, VAT Bills and Private Quotes are paid before leaving site (escalating any issues to the Transport Manager)
- Checking courtesy cars are safe and up to standard, reporting defects immediately
- Handling customer complaints in line with company procedures
- Undertaking all driving and recovery tasks as directed by the Transport Manager
- Planning your day effectively and working efficiently with a customer-first approach
- Assisting with vehicle movements in and out of the workshop
- Washing customer or courtesy cars where necessary
- Locating and moving vehicles for salvage agents
Skills and experience required:
- Must be over 21 with a full UK driving licence
- C1E / CE licence required (capable of driving up to 7.5 tonnes)
- Valid Driver Qualification Card and Digi Driver Card
- Experience in vehicle recovery preferred
- Physically capable of securing and moving vehicles and handling equipment
- Team player with a flexible, proactive, and can-do attitude
- Able to work responsibly and take ownership of tasks
