Tactical MET Technician

We are looking for highly skilled Tactical MET Technician who are up to date with latest industry techniques and can carry out repairs to the highest possible standard, to cover various locations, including the North East & Midlands, South Coast & Surrey, Kent & Essex, Central & South regions.

ABL 1 Touch are a market leading vehicle repair business since 1994, working in partnership with insurance companies.
ABL 1 Touch prides itself not only in the quality of its work but in providing excellent customer service.
As a key member of the Tactical team you will ensure seamless continuity of our operations by filling in Tactical MET Technician gaps across a number of sites.
These sites will vary in size, volume and types of repairs.
Responsibilities of a Tactical MET Technician will include
- Inspecting vehicle structure, mechanical components and paintwork
- Ensuring vehicles meet all safety requirements prior to handover
- Removing, storing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components
- Safely handling and disposing of vehicle fluids and gases
- Reassembling vehicles following repair, carrying out detailed quality checks
- Performing 4-wheel alignments where required
- Completing quality control checks, final sign-off and ATA documentation
- Identifying and reporting faults or additional repair requirements
- Maintaining tools, equipment and a clean, safe working environment
- Following approved repair methods and ensuring documentation is accurate and visible
- Carrying out vehicle safety checks, beam settings and recording warnings on job cards
- Ensuring all safety-critical components are fitted and torqued to specification
Skills and experience required as a Tactical MET Technician
- A minimum of
- 5 years’ experience in motor vehicle body repair
- Auto electrical qualifications and practical experience
- Knowledge of computerised wheel alignment systems
- Strong mechanical and suspension knowledge
- A full UK driving licence
- Recognised
- Air Conditioning and Encapsulated Glass training (preferred)
- A flexible, team-focused approach with a positive attitude
- High levels of professionalism, accountability and attention to detail
