Tactical Multiskilled Technician

As a key member of the Tactical team you will ensure seamless continuity of our operations by filling in Tactical Multiskilled Technician gaps across a number of sites.

These sites will vary in size, volume and types of repairs.

Responsibilities of a Tactical Multiskilled Technician

  • Observe, recognise and report on vehicle structure and paintwork.
  • Ensure that vehicles comply with safety standards when returned to customers, or that faults have been reported and noted on the job card.
  • Removal and safe storage of vehicle components, fluids and gases as directed by work order.
  • Report all faults, defects noticed whilst working on vehicles.
  • Actively make sure the repair method is in the job pack and is fully read, understood (e-scribe, manufacturer or other source) and displayed with the vehicle at all times.
  • Replacement of all new bolted panels as directed by work order – paying attention to specified repair methods order.
  • Repair of damaged panels to include filler work ready for preparation for paint.
  • Paint repair – to be able to accurately use paint mixing schemes, computerised scales, spray booths and drying lamps.
  • Preparation of repaired areas as directed by work order, in readiness for application of topcoat.
  • Application of topcoat to manufacturer’s specification.
  • Flat and polish to high standard as and when required.
  • Ensure PAS125 / Health & Safety processes are adhered to.
  • Accurately document and identify all components, materials and consumables used.
  • Protect customers vehicles with covers and dust sheets etc.
  • Sign off QC sheet as per documented process and get the ATA of each department to counter sign if audited under BSI current standards.

Skills and experience required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Body repair of motor vehicles (Paint / Panel MET).
  • Full UK Driving licence.
  • Willing to gain relevant qualifications in line with workshop / site requirements.
  • ATA Qualifications in any area are an advantage but not essential.
  • Previous experience in Bodsyhop repairs.
  • Team Player who uses initiative.
  • Flexibility and a can-do attitude.
  • Cultural and organisational insight and takes responsibility for own actions.
