Role Summary
Abingdon School is seeking to appoint a caring and committed candidate to join our small and friendly team in providing a first-class healthcare service to the School’s pupils. This is a part-time post working 18 hours per week on a shift basis, including weekends and overnight shifts during term time only (34 weeks per year), starting as soon as possible after 1 September 2025. The appointment will initially be on a six-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement.
The School Health Centre operates from 7.45am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, and 9.00am to 5.00pm on Saturdays (summer term 10.00am to 2.00pm). An on-call service is available at all other times, including Sundays and overnight. There are opportunities to take on additional overnight or weekend shifts, as well as providing first aid cover for sports matches during the Michaelmas and Lent terms.
Experience working with adolescents or in a healthcare setting is highly desirable but not essential.
