Are you a passionate safeguarding professional looking to make a meaningful difference to students' lives? We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Safeguarding Manager to join our Student Services team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the operational aspects of safeguarding, student wellbeing, and mental health support, supporting and deputising for the DSL as required.
- Line manage and motivate the Student Adviser team to deliver an outstanding student experience.
- Identify and support vulnerable students by assessing needs, coordinating internal and external support, and monitoring interventions.
- Support the DSL in ensuring the College remains compliant with all safeguarding responsibilities.
- Ensure students have timely access to effective mental health support.
- Maintain accurate and confidential safeguarding and student records.
- Stay up to date with safeguarding legislation and guidance, and disseminate relevant information appropriately.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Level 3 Safeguarding qualification and experience acting as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or above.
- A minimum of three years' experience delivering safeguarding support in a related sector (e.g. education, youth work, or care).
- In depth knowledge of relevant legislation and external referral processes.
- Proven experience of analysing data and identifying trends.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and external agencies.
