We’re looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated Pathways Lecturer to help learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to build confidence, develop essential employability skills and take their next steps toward work, supported internships or further study. This is a rewarding role for someone who believes in inclusive education and is committed to helping young people overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.
Salary per annum: £34,391 - £44,558

Working pattern: Monday – Thursday 7.5 hours, Friday 7 hours
Location: Abingdon

What You’ll Do:
- Plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons and practical activities.
- Use a mix of teaching methods and resources to support diverse learners.
- Embed equality, diversity and inclusive practice in everything you do.
- Provide clear assessments, feedback and tutorial support.
- Create personalised learning plans and help learners achieve their goals.
- Work closely with support staff, employers and colleagues to deliver an excellent learner experience.
- Continually develop your practice and contribute to course planning and improvement.
Essential Experience:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards this).
- Experience of working with young people with SEND in educational or training settings.
- Passion for supporting learners and excellent teaching skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding.
- Level 2 literacy and numeracy.
- Experience teaching the subject area and working with diverse groups.
- Strong pastoral and learner‑support skills.
Desirable Experience:
- Level 2 IT qualification.
- Post‑16 teaching experience.

Any successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway, unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two‑week teacher induction, followed by the Award in Education and Training (AET), and then the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. There is also the option to pursue Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at a later stage.
