Overview

We are seeking a dependable and proactive Caretaker to support the day-to-day operations of our college estate. This hands-on role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe and secure learning environment for students, staff and visitors.

Salary: £24,700 – £24,960 per year

Hours per week: 37

Weeks per Annum: 52

Working pattern: TBC

Location: Abingdon Campus

Contract type: Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Opening and securing college buildings
  • General maintenance and basic repairs
  • Conducting routine health & safety checks
  • Setting up rooms for college activities and events
  • Supporting cleaning, grounds maintenance and porter duties
  • Responding to emergencies and out-of-hours call-outs as needed

Essential Experience

  • Experience in a similar caretaker or facilities role (desirable)
  • Practical skills in DIY and basic maintenance
  • A strong awareness of health and safety
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
