Overview
We are seeking a dependable and proactive Caretaker to support the day-to-day operations of our college estate. This hands-on role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe and secure learning environment for students, staff and visitors.
Salary: £24,700 – £24,960 per year
Hours per week: 37
Weeks per Annum: 52
Working pattern: TBC
Location: Abingdon Campus
Contract type: Permanent
Responsibilities
- Opening and securing college buildings
- General maintenance and basic repairs
- Conducting routine health & safety checks
- Setting up rooms for college activities and events
- Supporting cleaning, grounds maintenance and porter duties
- Responding to emergencies and out-of-hours call-outs as needed
Essential Experience
- Experience in a similar caretaker or facilities role (desirable)
- Practical skills in DIY and basic maintenance
- A strong awareness of health and safety
- Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
