Abingdon & Witney College is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Health & Social Care Lecturer (specialising in Adult Social Care or Nursing) to join our growing T Level Health team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the next generation of health professionals by delivering outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across our Abingdon or Witney campuses.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about learner success, dedicated to high-quality teaching, and eager to contribute to an ambitious and supportive curriculum area.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching for T Level Health learners.
  • Create engaging learning materials using both paper-based and digital resources.
  • Maintain accurate course records and respond to learner support needs.
  • Use college systems effectively to support course and quality processes.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of different learners and groups.
  • Plan and deliver assessments, provide feedback, and support exam processes.
  • Deliver tutorial sessions and guide learners through their Individual Learning Plans.
  • Make referrals and signpost enrichment opportunities to enhance learner progress.
  • Reflect on teaching practice, engage in CPD, and contribute to self-assessment.
  • Support programme administration, marketing, teamwork and college strategic goals.

Training and Qualification Requirements

Any successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway, unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two-week teacher induction, followed by the Award in Education and Training (AET), and then the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. There is also the option to pursue Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at a later stage.
