Oxfordshire Adult Learning (OAL), part of Abingdon & Witney College, invites applications for a French language lecturer to join our teaching team at hourly paid roles.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging French language courses for adult learners.
- Create inclusive and accessible learning environments.
- Monitor and record learner progress throughout the course.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the curriculum and learner experience.
Essential Experience
- Fluency in French and strong subject knowledge.
- Experience teaching French to adults or in a further education setting.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to diverse learner needs.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to inclusive education and lifelong learning.
Desirable Experience
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent).
- Experience working in community education or adult learning environments.
- Familiarity with accredited language qualifications and assessment methods.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
Successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two‑week teacher induction, the Award in Education and Training (AET), and the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. Option to pursue Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) later.
