Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging French language courses for adult learners.
  • Create inclusive and accessible learning environments.
  • Monitor and record learner progress throughout the course.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the curriculum and learner experience.

Essential Experience

  • Fluency in French and strong subject knowledge.
  • Experience teaching French to adults or in a further education setting.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to diverse learner needs.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and lifelong learning.

Desirable Experience

  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in community education or adult learning environments.
  • Familiarity with accredited language qualifications and assessment methods.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.

Successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two‑week teacher induction, the Award in Education and Training (AET), and the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. Option to pursue Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) later.
