Due to continued growth within our Electrical Installation provision and the introduction of our Foundation Level 2 Construction: Essential in Design and Planning programme, we are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join our successful Construction Trades team from September.

This exciting new role offers the opportunity to inspire future electricians and construction professionals while delivering outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across Electrical Installation and T Level programmes. You will play a key role in ensuring excellent student achievement, progression and career outcomes, helping learners develop the skills, confidence and industry knowledge needed for apprenticeships and employment.

About the Role

As a Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and inspirational learning experiences that motivate students to achieve their full potential. You will plan, deliver, assess and evaluate high-quality learning opportunities while supporting learners to develop the technical, employability and personal skills required by industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across Electrical Installation programmes.
  • Support the delivery of Foundation Level 2 Construction: Essential in Design and Planning.
  • Prepare engaging learning resources and practical activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide high-quality feedback to support achievement.
  • Support students to develop employability, English and maths skills.
  • Act as a tutor, providing guidance and support to help learners achieve their career goals.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and industry partners to enhance student opportunities.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and departmental objectives.
  • Ensure learners have a clear pathway into apprenticeships, further study and employment.

About You:

You will be passionate about your trade, committed to learner success and eager to share your skills and knowledge with the next generation.

  • Qualified to level 3 or equivalent qualification in relevant electrical installation or construction discipline.
  • Experience working within the electrical installation or wider construction industry.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and learner success.
  • Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Assessor and/or Verifier qualifications.
  • Experience teaching within a post-16 environment.
