Abingdon & Witney College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Beauty Therapy Lecturer to deliver outstanding teaching on our Level 1-3 Beauty Therapy programme. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and develop learners who are building the practical and theoretical skills required for careers within the beauty industry.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning across our Beauty Therapy curriculum, supporting learners to develop industry-standard skills and progress successfully into further study or employment. The Beauty Therapy programmes cover a wide range of practical and theoretical content, including:
- Facial massage and skincare
- Cosmetic make-up
- Lash and brow treatments
- Manicure, pedicure and wax depilation
- Anatomy and physiology
- Beauty business practices and professionalism
- Supporting learners on industry placements and developing employability skills
You will also contribute to tutorial and pastoral support, ensuring learners feel supported, challenged, and motivated to achieve their full potential.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Passion for Beauty Therapy and learner success.
- Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Qualified Teacher Status, or a willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Level 2 (or equivalent) qualifications in English and Maths.
- Experience teaching within the Beauty Therapy or related curriculum.
- Excellent teaching and classroom management skills.
- Ability to relate to and engage diverse learner groups.
Desirable
- Assessor and/or Internal Verifier qualification.
- Experience teaching within a post-16 or Further Education setting.
- Existing links with employers and industry professionals.
Abingdon and Witney College reserve the right to close all applications before the posted closing date. Any successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway, unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two-week teacher induction, followed by the Award in Education and Training (AET), and then the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. There is also the option to pursue Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at a later stage.
