We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Orthotic Technician to join our established team in Belfast. As a Trainee Orthotic Technician, you will be provided with comprehensive training and development, allowing you to gain valuable experience in the manufacture and adjustment of orthotic devices. You will work closely with experienced technicians and healthcare professionals to support patient care through the production of high-quality orthotic solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the manufacture of custom orthotic devices, including foot orthoses, braces, and prosthetics.
- Work with a variety of materials such as plastics, leather, and foam to produce orthotics.
- Ensure all orthotic devices are manufactured to prescribed specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment.
- Support the Senior Technicians with troubleshooting and repairs of orthotic devices.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- An interest in healthcare or a related field.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Have an interest in making things with one's own hands.
Desirable:
- Experience of working with hand tools, router or grinders.
- Basic understanding of anatomy or healthcare.
- Previous experience in a technical, hands-on role.
