Night Care Assistant – Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole
£15.13 per hour for Waking Nights (incl. holiday pay) £75.04 per Sleep-in shift (incl. holiday pay)
Are you caring, reliable and comfortable supporting someone during the night?
Abicare is growing its Homecare service across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area, and we are looking for Night Care Assistants to provide safe, reassuring and person-centred support to people in their own homes.
We have opportunities covering both Waking Night and Sleep-in shifts.
Waking Night carers remain awake and available throughout the shift, providing support whenever required.
Sleep-in carers are able to sleep during the night but must be available to respond if the person they are supporting needs assistance.
Experience in care is welcomed, but it is not essential. If you have the right attitude and genuinely want to make a difference, we will provide the training, shadowing and ongoing support you need.
About The Role
As a Night Care Assistant with Abicare, you will support people to remain safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes overnight.
Depending on the individual care package, your role may include:
- Supporting with personal care, including toileting, washing and changing where required
- Supporting bedtime and morning routines
- Providing reassurance and companionship during the night
- Responding appropriately when a client wakes or requires assistance
- Supporting with mobility and safe transfers
- Medication support in line with the individual care plan and your training
- Monitoring the client’s wellbeing and responding to any changes or concerns
- Completing clear and accurate care records
- Following care plans, risk assessments and agreed procedures
- Maintaining a calm, safe environment throughout the night
- Working independently while knowing that support is available when needed
Waking Night shifts
Waking Night shifts are paid at £15.13 per hour including holiday pay. You will be expected to remain awake, alert and available throughout the shift.
Our current overnight packages operate between approximately 11pm and 6am.
Sleep-in shifts
Sleep-in shifts are paid at £75.04 per shift (incl. holiday pay). You will be provided with appropriate sleeping arrangements and are expected to sleep unless the client requires support during the night.

- A good communicator
