ABHI’s member groups are the beating heart of our organisation. Led by members and supported by the ABHI team, our network of more than 20 groups plays a critical role in shaping policy, influencing the operating environment, sharing expertise, and delivering value for the wider HealthTech sector.
The purpose of this role is to lead the effective management and coordination of these groups, working across ABHI’s teams to ensure their activities are aligned to strategic objectives and deliver tangible outcomes for members. The postholder will act as a trusted point of contact for group leaders and members, ensuring priorities are identified, communicated, and actioned appropriately.
Compliance and good governance are fundamental to ABHI’s work and underpin all our activities. As such, this role will lead ABHI’s legal and compliance activities, supporting transparency, robust governance, and adherence to the ABHI Code of Business Practice.

Core Accountabilities
Member Groups
- To manage the strategy, priorities, planning and administration of ABHI member groups, ensuring all activity is planned, recorded and executed in a timely manner and content is aligned with ABHI’s strategy and priorities.
- To develop and implement appropriate plans and priorities for the delivery of key activities for member groups, including group specific advocacy and engagement programmes that support members interests and ABHI’s objectives.
- To coordinate ABHI’s network of member groups, including maintaining an oversight of activity, attendance, uptake and stakeholder engagement through the use of a single reporting dashboard tracking KPI’s. Also measuring the impact of all group activity, group officers and group specific stakeholders and ensure the working groups are continuing to add value.
- Identify member priorities and emerging issues and ensure that they are communicated internally and translated into actions or advocacy activity as appropriate.
- To support and coordinate engagement with the ABHI Chairs & Vice-Chairs network, ensuring regular interaction with the ABHI Executive and Board, and to organise two Chairs & Vice-Chairs meetings each year.
- To support the attraction, recruitment and retention of members, assessing where ABHI can improve its engagement activities, participation in groups and member satisfaction.
- Act as the secretariat to designated member groups including agenda planning, meeting management, production of minutes and following up on agreed actions.
- Work with colleagues and external partners to deliver projects and member services that add value to ABHI’s members.
Legal & Compliance
- To respond to member compliance queries, providing guidance and support on the interpretation and application of the ABHI Code of Business Practice and associated compliance requirements and escalating where appropriate.
- Work with the Compliance Committee Chair to ensure adherence to the ABHI Code and to investigate any reports of code violations.
- Maintain accurate compliance records ensuring governance requirements and policy updates are effectively implemented and reviewed regularly and changes communicated internally.
- To keep the ABHI Code of Business Practice under review, ensuring it remains current, reflects evolving legal and regulatory requirements, and is aligned, where appropriate, with relevant international industry codes, standards and best practice.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Educated to degree level ideally in a related discipline.
- Must have proven project management and first-class organisational skills and an ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and deliver outcomes to agreed deadlines and standards.
- Must have excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience and a track record of building and maintaining strong relationships at a senior level.
- Must have proven experience of producing papers, minutes and reports for a range of target audiences.
- Must have experience of organising committees or working groups, including agenda planning, minute/action taking, tracking actions and follow up.
- Must have the ability to interpret information, sometimes complex and recommend practical solutions.
- Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail particularly for handling the compliance aspects of the role and for follow up with working groups.
- A good working knowledge of standard professional software packages (MS 365 suite including confidence in using MS Teams technology in meetings) & good use and understanding of company Customer Relationship Management systems.
- Must have confidence and credibility when presenting to groups or facilitating meetings.
- Must be able to work independently and manage and prioritise a busy workload with multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Self-motivated team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work and able to work on own initiative on projects.
- Any experience of working within a membership organisation or trade body or similar environment would be hugely beneficial.
- Experience of compliance, governance or code administration would also be hugely beneficial but not essential as training in this area can be provided.
- The candidate must live within an easy commuting distance of London for in-person meetings once or twice a month and have some flexibility around start and end times.
Budgetary Responsibilities
- Not applicable to this role although responsible for meeting expenses for in-person meetings.
