Role Description
The Senior Operational Auditor is a new full-time role to support the design, development, and delivery of operational assurance over Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) for ABF Sugar. Reporting to the Head of Operational Audit, the successful incumbent will provide opinion over the efficacy and efficiency of process and controls in the SHE space, working closely with our businesses and the ABF Sugar Safety teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish a network of safety professionals across ABF Sugar and the wider ABF group to facilitate bringing the outside in, and support collaboration and learning for the division.
- Support the creation of a risk-based audit plan based on, but not limited to, available safety information, incidents, and external audits.
- Facilitate deep dive reviews into key risk areas.
- Support the development of management information to make informed decisions.
- Examine, verify, analyse, and evaluate SHE procedures and policies to ensure fit-for-purpose and are compliant with local regulations, standards, and laws.
- Undertake audits on sensitive, confidential, and complex issues ensuring correct categorisation and clear agreed management actions.
- Clear documentation on audit findings and coordinating responses to management.
The Successful Candidate
- Seasoned Health and Safety professional with knowledge of cross-border safety practices with experience of regulatory inspections or audits desirable.
- Comfortable and confident in challenging and influencing a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with a passion for data and MI.
- Willingness to operate independently and take ownership for delivery.
- Confident with onsite audit and field work, travelling c.8-10 times annually.
Compensation and Benefits
- £65-70k Annual bonus based on company and individual performance Private Healthcare for yourself, with the option to add family members on at your own cost Participation in the ABF Pension Scheme, with matching contributions of up to 10%
