Job Purpose
To safely manufacture crafted brown sugars for retail and industrial customers ensuring that the production plan is met in full whilst complying with site procedures.
Core Accountabilities
- Maintain a proactive approach to safety, quality & hygiene to ensure standards are maintained and improved.
- Cleaning routines and clean as you go activities completed.
- Ensure product despatched is compliant with relevant standards and manufactured to defined recipes.
- Complete and record required safety, food safety, CCP checks and analysis on equipment and product. Ensure records managed to comply with customer and site requirements.
- Demonstrate the food safe operation of the area to auditors and customers.
- Inspect equipment prior to operating to ensure the safety, quality, and integrity of our product before sending to customer.
- Ensure minimal waste from the manufacturing process by complying with all food safety and quality procedures and monitoring the line for operational issues.
- Support bulk, bagging and warehouse operations where required.
- Record required performance metrics to enable improvement and monitoring of the site operations.
- Carry out sampling, lab analysis and visual quality checks of the sugar, raw materials, bags and equipment and flag any issues for assistance.
Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
- Ability to work as an individual and with groups.
- Experience of working in a lean operating environment.
- Hold a counterbalance licence.
- Competent operation of the system PLCs and audio-visual inspections of mixing, conveying, bagging screening and packaging equipment.
- Record all relevant customer, quality or safety information required for successful despatch.
- Maintain a proactive approach to safety, quality & hygiene to ensure standards are maintained and improved.
- Competent use of British Sugar IT systems including the warehouse management system, Teams, and Outlook.
