The Role
The Tutor will work full time and teach Welsh to the education workforce at all linguistic levels either at Ysgol Calon Cymru Campuses.
This post is funded by the National Welsh Learning Center and the post holder will be one of a team of tutors who will provide courses to the education workforce across Wales.

What you'll do
This job description is subject to review and amendment in the light of the changing needs of the University, to provide appropriate development opportunities and/or the addition of any other reasonable duties.
- Prepare course material as needed at all linguistic levels for the education workforce.
- Organise and teach a range of different courses for staff working at Ysgol Calon Cymru
- Engage with the Headteacher and the Senior leadership team within the school.
- Ensure that enquiries from learners are handled efficiently and promptly;
- To assess learners in accordance with the relevant guidelines and give feedback on progress during the courses.
- To provide support and advice to learners and prospective learners, including learners with additional learning needs;
- To advise and support learners to use online learning resources;
- To work in accordance with Learn Welsh quality assurance processes;
- To undertake class-related administration, including keeping correct registers, advising and assisting learners to enrol on courses, and to follow the policies of the department and National Centre regarding course administration;
- To hold and support learner recruitment activities;
- To support learners to use their Welsh by attending informal learning activities;
- Ensure quick and polite communication with other learners and tutors
- Work flexibly to support distance learning students.
- To take part in termly tutor meetings in order to give and receive feedback, and to contribute to local planning and teamwork.
- To undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.

Essential
- UK driving licence or the ability to travel in accordance with the requirements of the job.
- Degree and/or substantial experience of relevant work.
- An understanding of the methodology of learning a second language, and evidence of an ability to teach Welsh to adults.
- Ability to create and adapt learning and teaching resources.
- Ability to advise and support learners effectively, including learners with additional learning needs.
- Experience of assessing learners' work and giving feedback to learners.
- Ability to use information technology effectively for learning and teaching and administration, including web browsing programmes, email, word processing and presentations, and video conferencing programmes, e. g.
Zoom or Teams.
- Commitment to personal professional development.
- Ability to be flexible and work independently, and prioritise your work.
- Oral (spoken) and Written Welsh Level C1.
Desirable
- Degree in Welsh.
- Teaching Qualification, e. g. National Qualification for Welsh for Adults tutors, or 'Dechrau Dysgu' qualification, or currently undertaking a course.
