Academic Services is part of the Directorate of Student and Academic Services and is responsible for a range of activities relating to academic administration and governance. The team manages a range of student processes, including registration, timetabling, assessment, academic appeals, academic progression and awards. Academic Services supports Academic Quality and Standards Committee, as well as School Academic Committees and Assessment Boards and handles student discipline and complaints for the University.
The University now seeks to appoint a Student Administration Assistant on an Indefinite basis.
Reporting to the Student Administration Manager, you will provide a high level of administrative support, primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of the examination processes.
The post-holder will be responsible for formatting and printing examination papers, and all aspects of the examination process including exam timetabling and invigilation provision.
The postholder will be responsible for the printing of award certificates and transcripts and supporting graduation tasks as required.
The post holder will be required to liaise with academic staff and the External Examiners to ensure moderation processes are carried out in a timely manner. The postholder will also be involved with the operation of the student research ethics system.
The role requires excellent organisational and administrative skills, and good communication skills. A high level of accuracy is essential. The role requires excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills as you will be communicating with students and staff in a variety of roles across the University and its partner institutions. A knowledge and understanding of university student administration processes and procedures is essential.
We are looking for a highly motivated, organised individual who is able to work effectively with others, with the ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines. We are looking for the successful person to be available to start as soon as practicably possible.
