Part-time Campus Safety Assistants (12 hours over 8 days minimum)

Grade 3 (£23,046.90 - £24,216.63) plus shift allowance, pro rata.

This role provides cover for our full-time Campus Safety staff. Flexibility is required to cover periods of absence and annual leave. Cover may include 12-hour day or night shifts, which will be mutually agreed in advance.

\n
Campus Safety Assistants play an important role in ensuring a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our students, staff and visitors. As part of a 24-hour, 365-day service, you will help protect people and property across the University campus while providing a professional, approachable and responsive service.

\n
The role is varied and includes operating the Campus Safety control room, carrying out patrols of University buildings and grounds, managing access to buildings, responding to security and maintenance issues and acting as a first response to emergency situations. You will also support wider University activities, including graduations and other events, contractor access, classroom set-up and maintaining safe access to campus during adverse weather.

We are looking for individuals with a strong customer-service focus who can communicate confidently and professionally with students, staff and visitors. You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, using your initiative to respond to problems and remaining calm and professional when dealing with challenging or unexpected situations.
