The Department of Built Environment and Life Sciences hosts the Biomedical Science, Forensic Sciences, Food Science, Nutrition and Engineering academic provision and sits within the Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences. Our department is highly research active, consisting of over 30 staff delivering a range of undergraduate (Hons) and postgraduate degree programmes. The majority of our courses are accredited by relevant professional bodies.

Students and staff have access to a variety of high-quality laboratories equipped with recognised equipment and software.
Reporting to the Head of Department, you will provide excellent teaching to our students, developing and delivering content as well as managing modules. Your expertise and a collegiate approach to working with others will contribute to the success and smooth running of our programmes, and continued excellence in our teaching provision.
You will specifically be expected to deliver Biomedical Science content on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will also be expected to support the development of students’ laboratory and transferable skills.
