Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.
Library Services sits within Learning Services in the Directorate of Student and Academic Services and plays a central role in supporting teaching, learning and student success at Abertay University. We are a small, collaborative and user-focused team working closely with Academic Schools and professional service colleagues.
Our work includes providing seamless access to high-quality digital collections, supporting reading lists and discovery systems, and delivering curriculum-embedded teaching that helps students develop the information and digital skills needed for academic success.
The University now seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated Academic Support Librarian. Reporting to the Library Services Manager, you will contribute to the design and delivery of curriculum-embedded teaching that supports students in developing effective information and digital skills.
Working closely with academic staff, you will help embed these skills within modules and assessments, design engaging learning resources, and build students’ confidence in searching for, evaluating and using information ethically in an increasingly AI-enabled research environment. You will also contribute to reading list support, scholarly discovery, copyright guidance and the effective use of the digital tools and licensed resources that underpin teaching and learning.
This is a collaborative, flexible role in which you will make a visible contribution to the student experience. The role requires a degree in Library and Information Science (or a comparable qualification) and experience, or strong potential, in supporting academic, information and digital skills in an HE or similar context.
We are looking for someone who is collaborative, approachable, organised and adaptable, with excellent communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting student learning and continuing professional development.
If you believe you have the skills and experience for this exciting and challenging role, please submit your application through our online recruitment system.
