The school secured funding to build, develop, and refurbish many areas of the school premises. From a sports perspective, the new or renovated facilities include a 3G+ pitch, netball courts, changing rooms, sports hall, and dance studio. These will be used for school and community use. This role will be crucial in securing their success, particularly with respect to marketing and income generation.
Abersychan School is an 11 – 16 co-educational comprehensive school which meets the needs of children of all abilities. We are a school that is committed to ensuring all our young people are happy, successful, and ready for their lives beyond school. Our expectations and standards are high. We have a highly committed and caring staff who are dedicated to ensuring each child achieves their personal best. The school currently has 740 students, 46 teachers and 56 members of support staff. The school serves an area of significant socio-economic deprivation with 30% of students entitled to FSM and 51% of students living in the 20% most deprived areas of Wales.
The aims of the school are delivered through a strong pastoral system, a commitment to providing high quality learning experiences, and an extensive range of sporting, cultural, musical, and extracurricular activities. The students are happy, hard-working, and positive about the school. They genuinely are an asset to our community and are incredibly friendly. They want to receive a high-quality education and to become successful students. We have fantastic parents and governors, who are extremely supportive in supporting the school to provide the very best education.
