Abernethy Trust invites applications for the Head Housekeeper role at our Nethy Bridge site. This position offers the chance to live and work in the Scottish Highlands, serving a Christian community that provides excellent hospitality.
As Head Housekeeper you will oversee all aspects of housekeeping service delivery, lead and develop our team, and model Christian values in all interactions. You will play a key role in supporting the wider ministry of the Centre, including evening sessions with children and weekend ministry teams.
Key Roles- Lead, train, motivate and mentor the housekeeping team, general assistants, gap‑year team and volunteers.
- Plan team shift patterns to meet guest and staff needs.
- Ensure all guest accommodation, facilities and public areas are maintained at an excellent level of cleanliness and repair.
- Manage and participate in the seamless running of changeovers at the centre, timeshare and self‑catering accommodation.
- Maintain an efficient, hygienic and safe laundry service.
- Organise and manage housekeeping stores to ensure adequate equipment, cleaning fluids and uniforms.
- Keep accurate paperwork and record‑keeping for housekeeping.
- Achieve deep‑cleaning targets during close‑down and maintenance periods.
- Mature and growing Christian faith.
- Good IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members while ensuring high‑standard work delivery.
- Experience in housekeeping.
