Aberdein Considine are looking for a dynamic and driven Senior Paralegal to join our Conveyancing Department in Edinburgh.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out all work in connection with residential sales, purchases, transfers of titles and remortgage transactions, as well as ensuring compliance with Law Society of Scotland, Council of Mortgage Lenders and Firm Compliance/Due Diligence Procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaising with clients, lenders and all relevant third parties in relation to the conveyancing transaction.
- Taking client instructions.
- Ensuring diligence at all times including taking precautions against potential fraud and money laundering.
- Drafting all relevant documents for all parts of the conveyancing transaction at hand.
- Dealing with financial aspects of a transaction.
- Receiving and checking mortgage instructions from lenders and all associated tasks.
- Dealing with the full conveyancing transaction from start to finish.
- Ensuring the post-registration work is done timeously.
- Carrying out all compliance requests and exercises in relation to transactions.
- Managing a varied and busy case load of files, while maintaining excellent client care at all times.
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Residential Conveyancing Paralegal Studies.
- Good understanding of the conveyancing process, including the drafting of missives.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of the Scottish conveyancing process.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Able to manage own case load efficiently and effectively.
- Strong communication and client care skills.
- Client first mindset and approachable personality.
