Operate Council minibuses transporting service users and other passengers, including children and vulnerable adults.

Assist Lead Drivers on all aspects of operating Council passenger transport services. This post will be based out of Aberdeenshire Council Fleet Depot at Stonehaven. This is a peripatetic role where the 25 hours per week will be allocated in line with service needs across Aberdeenshire. This will include working various hours each day at different times of the day to support services such as school runs, A2B services as required.

As an Aberdeenshire Council minibus driver you may be deployed to undertake work across Aberdeenshire. Transport may be provided from your base location but you may also be required to work out of an alternative base location or use your own transport to get to alternative base or work locations across Aberdeenshire. Mileage will be paid where applicable.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have D1 Category on Driving Licence.
  • This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
  • Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
