This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic natural heritage specialist to join our Natural Environment Team as an Environment Planner (Natural Heritage). Aberdeenshire’s natural environment resource is one of its most important assets and as such must be carefully managed in a sustainable way. Our team is at the forefront of protecting, enhancing and championing Aberdeenshire’s natural environment, playing a key role in addressing the challenges of the nature emergency.
We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong knowledge of nature conservation, ecology and biodiversity who primarily can provide expert advice and consultation responses on natural heritage issues in relation to the Development Management and Local Development Plan process. The role will also involve helping to shape and deliver action plans, environmental strategies and deliver natural environmental project work.
This post is a 2 year fixed term post working 3.5 days per week - 25.375 hours. There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation. The post would involve flexible and hybrid working. Fixed term for a period not exceeding 31 March 2028.
