Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for an Early Years Support Worker to act as a member of the Early Learning and Childcare Team, with involvement in the work of the Early Level curriculum, and where appropriate, the pre-Birth to Three Framework whilst under supervision from the Early Years Senior Practitioner.

Provide general support in relation to the needs of individuals’ care, health and wellbeing and safety and ensure a secure and safe environment for all children (including children with Additional Support Needs).

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

This is a Children’s Service Network (CSN) post. Initially you will be based at Banchory Primary Nursery, but you may be required to work elsewhere within the Banchory CSN. The successful candidate will be employed on a 52.18 weeks per year contract.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.

This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
