The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 Β£ per year.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Animal Health and Welfare Officer to join our Trading Standards team. This role will focus primarily on dog control and animal licensing, with the opportunity to expand into animal health and feed responsibilities should the post be extended.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Enforce legislation related to dog control, animal licensing, and welfare.
  • Investigate complaints and take appropriate enforcement action.
  • Conduct inspections of licensed premises and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Provide advice and support to the public, businesses, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for legal proceedings if required.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies including Police Scotland and DEFRA and Scottish SPCA

Work outwith normal hours where required to meet job function or in emergency situations.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

This is a hybrid role involving a mix of home working, office-based duties, and travel for site visits and inspections. As such, the successful candidate must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle insured for business use in order to carry out the full duties of the post.

This will be based at Unit 7, Harlaw Road, Inverurie
