We are keen to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative Foundation Apprenticeship Trainer - Energy Engineering to work with the Foundation Apprenticeship Team in various schools throughout Aberdeenshire. The successful candidate will teach Energy Engineering, a Foundation Apprenticeship currently being piloted in Aberdeenshire this Academic Session and which we anticipate rapidly growing in strength and pupil numbers. The candidate may be required to teach across other technical Foundation Apprenticeship Frameworks which include Engineering, Construction and Automotive.

Foundation Apprenticeships have become an incredibly successful part of Aberdeenshire's Senior phase curriculum offer, driving significant increases in levels of achievement and having positive and significant transformational impacts on the opportunities and life chances for our young people. We welcome applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates who wish to become a part of the team and help continue to build upon this success.

You will be required to deliver programmes of learning in appropriate Foundation Apprenticeship subject areas to groups of students, in accordance with the national Scottish Qualification Agency (SQA) and Skills Development Scotland (SDS) by providing support, guidance and advice to service users, Council staff and local companies, as part of the wider Foundation Apprenticeship team.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation. This post is fixed term for a period not exceeding 22/08/2027.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
