Ellon Academy has Complex Needs Provision and an Enhanced Provision, and this is an opportunity to join our ASL team at a time of exciting change for Ellon Academy. We are looking for a primary or secondary trained teacher who has experience or an interest in complex needs and supporting young people with complex needs to achieve their potential at school and in their community.
We would welcome applicants who have skills in practical crafts, cooking, enterprise, STEM, technical and outdoor skills that they can apply to the work that we do here.
The ASL team at Ellon is a cohesive and supportive team and there are leadership opportunities within the wider school. This is a network post. The vacancy is for the Ellon Network, the hours are currently allocated to Ellon Academy, but you may be required to work within the Ellon CSN. Fixed Term for a period not exceeding 06 June 2027.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered. If you qualified as a Teacher out with Scotland, please visit GTCS – Qualified Outside Scotland and review the GTCS FAQs for more information around obtaining registration with the General Teaching Council Scotland.
