Live Life Aberdeenshire is currently seeking a dynamic School Librarian for Fraserburgh Academy. The successful candidate will be required to work with young people and school staff and manage and promote the library service within the school.

The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring and managing resources, developing a reading programme, supporting curriculum learning, developing partnerships in the school community, and promoting literacy.

We are looking for a candidate who holds a Libraries degree or is educated to degree level in a relevant subject and has experience working in an educational environment. The candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, experienced in lone-working, and skilled in engaging with learners and teaching staff.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation. While you will be working in collaboration with the school, you will report to the Area Librarian who will support your school library and professional development.

Fixed Term until 30/06/2026

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer.
