A vacancy has arisen for an Early Years Support Worker to work as part of the Early Learning and Childcare team, with involvement in the work of the Early Level curriculum and Realising the Ambition in addition to contributing to the care and education of children. This is a Children’s Service Network (CSN) post. The hours are to be worked at Pitmedden School Nursery, but you may be required to work elsewhere within the Meldrum CSN.
The successful candidate will be employed on a 52.18 week per year contract, fixed for 18 months from the date of appointment. If not already obtained, there will be a contractual requirement to secure a relevant SCQF Level 6 or 7 qualification such as SVQ in Social Services (Children & Young People), SVQ Children’s Care Learning and Development within 18 months of the official start date. This position is subject to Local Government terms and conditions.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality and service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service of the organisation. Fixed term for a period not exceeding 4 January 2028.
This post is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory. This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment. This post has a minimum requirement of 2 references. One of these must be your current or most recent employer.
