Are you a passionate, motivated, and flexible social worker looking to make a real difference? We have an exciting opportunity for a fixed-term, part-time (25.38 hours) Social Worker to join our Throughcare Aftercare Team. This rewarding post offers the chance to support young people as they move from care towards independence.
Working within a dedicated Aberdeenshire-wide team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality support to young people who have previously been Looked After and Accommodated. Although the team is geographically dispersed, we are extremely supportive, connected, and committed to one another, sharing a strong ethos of collaboration and reflective practice.
Our work is firmly grounded in ‘The Promise’, with a clear focus on promoting positive, aspirational pathways for young people with care experience. We value innovative and creative approaches and are keen to hear from candidates who bring ideas, energy, and flexibility to help young people overcome challenges and build confident, independent futures.
You will work in partnership with young people and a wide range of professionals, including Social Work, Education and Health services, Police, accommodation providers, and training and employment services, ensuring that young people can access the right support, resources, and opportunities at the right time.

Location: Negotiable Fixed Term for a period not exceeding: 28/01/2027
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory. This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of these must be your current or most recent employer.
