We are looking for a motivated and organised semi-skilled joiner/technical assistant to join the Joint Equipment Service team. This is a key role supporting the efficient installation of minor adaptations into service users' homes that enable people to live independently at home.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has practical joinery skills OR strong advanced DIY experience
- Is confident using hand and power tools
- Has experience in general property maintenance or similar work
- Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Can work independently and manage their workload effectively
- Has a flexible approach with a strong work ethic
- Possesses good communication skills and a respectful, professional manner
- Holds a full UK driving licence (essential for travel across Aberdeenshire)
Desirable Experience:
- Time served joiner
- Previous experience working within social care, housing, or public sector environments
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations
- Basic understanding of accessibility adaptations
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation. This is a full-time fixed term 12 month contract for a period not exceeding 25 June 2027.
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory. This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer.
