The Housing Information Team supports the Aberdeenshire Council Housing Service by extracting, analysing and presenting data for use by Housing colleagues, the wider Council, external agencies, and the public. We are seeking an Information Analyst on a fixed-term basis to support a key improvement project: migrating our existing suite of SAP Business Objects reports to a Power BI-based reporting approach.
You will work with Information Analysts, managers and team leaders across the Housing Service to understand and define reporting requirements. Extracting data from our housing management system (NEC), you will design and deliver user-friendly, interactive Power BI dashboards that enable staff to access performance and monitoring information on a self-service basis.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in data analysis and data-driven performance improvement within a public sector environment. The successful candidate will have strong experience using Power BI, including importing data, carrying out advanced data transformations, writing DAX formulas, and building reports with interactive visuals and drill-through functionality.
Experience with MS Fabric, database imports, Power BI Dataflows, SQL, R or Python is desirable; however, we also welcome applicants who can demonstrate a strong ability to rapidly develop new technical skills. Knowledge of datasets relevant to the Scottish social housing sector, such as Scottish Housing Regulator reporting requirements or Scottish Government homelessness data collections, would be advantageous but is not essential.
This is a hybrid role, with collaboration primarily via Microsoft Teams. Attendance at in-person meetings is required occasionally, typically in Aberdeen City or Inverurie. The post is fixed term for a period not exceeding 18 months.
