We are recruiting Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (Parenting Support) to provide specialist trauma-informed support to parents and carers of children and young people who are care experienced or at risk of becoming so. You will deliver intensive 1:1 parenting support, helping families strengthen relationships, build confidence and reduce the risk of family breakdown. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by helping more children remain safely within their family networks wherever possible.

The funding for these posts comes from the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund, a Scottish Government investment aimed at supporting transformational change in family support services in line with the Promise and the Independent Care Review. The funding has been granted for a 2 year period. The posts will sit within the existing Children's Wellbeing Team, who provide direct work support to children and young people with an identified emotional wellbeing need, who are either care experienced or on the cusp of care, across the Aberdeenshire area.

Location is flexible across Aberdeenshire, and can be discussed at interview. Fixed term for a period not exceeding: 31/05/2028.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post has a minimum requirement of 2 references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
