Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic teachers to provide leadership, effective management, and strategic direction for the school. The role involves overseeing the school\’s affairs to benefit pupils and the community, leading and evaluating whole school policies, and managing curriculum development to improve educational outcomes.
The post holder must demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service and the organization.
Note: Holding the Standard for Headship became a requirement for teachers taking their first permanent headteacher post at Local Authority and grant-aided schools in Scotland from 1 August 2020, under Section 28 of the Education (Scotland) Act 2016. There are exemptions for certain cases, such as appointments made before this date or temporary appointments within 23 months after this date.

Requirements
This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will need to join or update their PVG Scheme membership. If the candidate has spent three or more months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check is required. All pre-employment checks must be satisfactory before employment commences.
Salary will align with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or become eligible for GTC Scotland registration. For those qualified outside Scotland, visit GTCS – Qualified Outside Scotland for registration details.
The grade for this position may be reviewed annually and adjusted accordingly, effective from 1 August each year.
