Aberdeenshire Council is currently recruiting for an IT Modern Apprentice to provide customer focused support for IT across the Council in line with agreed service levels and local policies. The main areas of support include: desktop software and hardware; systems and applications software.
After training you will complete duties on our IT Service Desk including phone, webchat and local site support. This post participates in a rota to cover the business hours of 07:30 - 18:00 Monday-Thursday, 07:30-17:00 Friday.
Aberdeenshire Council is committed to increasing the opportunities in the local area by providing Modern Apprenticeships (MA's). These allow you to gain skills, experience and knowledge in the world of work as well as gaining a formal qualification. Successful candidates will be placed on an approved programme of training through the Aberdeenshire Council Modern Apprenticeship Scheme for the IT Professional SVQ Level 3 qualification. This MA programme is open to candidates aged 16-19. If you have a disability or are a care leaver then you are also eligible to apply up to the age of 29.
Academic achievement in 3 Scottish National 4 or 5, 3 Standard grades or equivalent is essential. Fixed Term for a period not exceeding 24 months.
Requirements:
- This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
- The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
- Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
- You will be required to provide this check.
- A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
- This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer, teacher or equivalent.
