We are looking for enthusiastic teachers wanting to work in the Primary Sector who are committed to excellence and ready to work in a dynamic part of Scotland to deliver quality education to assigned pupils and contribute, within collegiate ethos, to the professional life of the school in relation to pupils, staff and appropriate external bodies within the agreements of the Local Negotiating Committee for Teachers and the Scottish Negotiating Committee for Teachers.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation. This post would be an as and when required via relief booking system and would be shire wide in terms of requests.
Aberdeenshire Council schools and educational settings now use the Teacher Booker system to publish relief work opportunities. If you are appointed to the relief position, you will be required to register into the Aberdeenshire Council relief pool on the Teacher Booker system to receive notifications of these opportunities and apply for them. Once you have been set up on payroll our Education Relief Team will contact you providing a link to the Teacher Booker System to set up a user profile, once completed Aberdeenshire Council will then approve you for work, following their own vetting/approval procedure, once completed you will then be able to start accepting jobs.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered. If you qualified as a Teacher out with Scotland, please visit GTCS - Qualified Outside Scotland and review the GTCS FAQs for more information around obtaining registration with the General Teaching Council Scotland. Please note applications for this vacancy must be Primary GTCS registered. The ability to travel within Aberdeenshire is a requirement of the post. This post has a minimum requirement of one reference, which must be your current or most recent employer.
