The Major Works Officer post is dedicated to the Internal Wall Insulation Team. This role plays a critical part in leading supervisors onsite and ensuring safe, high-quality project delivery that meets all specifications, adheres to programme, and remains within budget.

As a Major Works Officer, you will assist in managing a multi-trade in-house workforce along with supporting various subcontractors. You will lead the deployment, supervision, and control of all resources, developing a dedicated team to continue with the full refurbishment of granite properties across the whole of Aberdeenshire.

Moreover, this role requires the ability to provide information and recommendations on operational matters, along with promoting and ensuring adherence to all Health and Safety Practices.

For this post, a van for company use will be provided as well as PPE to enable the suitable candidate to carry out their duties. Requirements:

  • This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
  • Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.
  • A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
  • This post requires a current valid driving licence.
  • This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer.
