- Our Investments business is a specialist asset manager that focuses on areas where we have both strength and scale to capitalise on the key themes shaping the market, through either public markets or alternative asset classes.
The Real Assets Structuring team is truly multi-disciplinary, covering Investment, Legal and Tax components in Real Estate and Infrastructure. As a centralised team, a consistent structuring service will be provided globally across many asset classes including Real Estate and Infrastructure.
The Senior Structuring Adviser is responsible for supporting the legal requirements of the procurement and management of fund launches and asset level structuring and/or transaction solutions, the delivery of consistent clear risk mitigating advice and general fund transactions in a risk-controlled manner and which meet the commercial objectives of the Real Assets business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legally support product development and innovation, investment activity and commercialisation across Real Assets for new Funds and existing Funds.
- Enhance investment capability, offer a world class enabling function focused on delivery of fund and asset structuring and efficient transaction structuring to deploy capital in all forms of Real Estate.
- Engage with investment teams to establish strong embedded lines within and aligned to the investment teams to support our rapid growth and delivery of investment performance.
- Engage with other key stakeholders across the product and investment lifecycle.
- Offer client differentiation through a multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to a global centre to service all end-to-end investment management strategies across Real Assets.
- Enhance investment returns by enhancing and protecting alpha.
- Have knowledge of Real Assets transactions across the investment lifecycle.
- Generate and support product development and innovation across Real Assets.
- Ensure the application of common processes, standards, structures and lessons learned across asset classes, where appropriate.
- Adherence to house policy, investment policy, specific regulatory restrictions and building collaborative working relationships with central support functions including Operations, Tax and Legal to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Develop strong working relationships with the wider Real Assets teams and key stakeholders to the Real Assets business to ensure effective delivery of fund and asset level transactions and structuring solutions, working closely and proactively with fund managers, portfolio managers, Global Product (in particular Alternative Product), Investment Specialists, Operations teams, Investment Governance & Oversight, Risk & Compliance, Group Legal, Procurement & Supplier Management, other internal and external stakeholders and external service providers.
About the Candidate:
- Qualified Lawyer or other relevant qualification.
- Exposure to Financial Services Industry preferred.
- Practical working knowledge of fund launches.
- Knowledge of the commercial and legal aspects of transactions in Alternative Asset classes.
- Technical expertise in relevant areas and ability to explain technical concepts in understandable terms.
