About the Role
As an Engineering Lead, you will play a key role in leading a cross-functional squad, ensuring alignment between business goals, product vision, and technical execution.
You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive innovation, working closely with product managers and UX designers to shape the future of our technology landscape. With a polyglot mindset, you will focus on solving real-world problems with the best tools and methodologies available. Your passion for continuous learning, AI-driven automation, and modern cloud architectures will help keep Aberdeen Adviser at the forefront of digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure the squad makes the right architectural and technology decisions, leveraging cloud-native, scalable, and secure solutions on Microsoft Azure.

Work closely with Product Managers and UX Designers to translate business and customer needs into technical solutions that deliver measurable impact.

Encourage experimentation with AI, automation, and machine learning to improve engineering efficiency and enhance customer experiences.

Drive test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and observability best practices, ensuring seamless deployment and monitoring of applications.

Identify opportunities for improvement, refactor code, and propose innovative solutions that enhance engineering effectiveness.

Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment between engineering, product, and business goals.

Advocate for secure coding practices and ensure applications meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards.
About the candidate
-
Experience leading and mentoring technical teams in an Engineering Lead, Tech Lead, or similar role.
-
Strong experience in full-stack development, with expertise in React / React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, Next.JS, or equivalent modern technologies.

Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful microservices, with consideration for event-driven architectures where appropriate.

Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, including containerization, serverless functions, and microservices architectures.

Passion for AI, automation, and emerging technologies, with a drive to implement intelligent solutions.

A deep understanding of modern software engineering practices, including test-driven development (TDD), CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability.

Ability to mentor and support engineers at different levels, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
