About the department: Our Business Partnering team provides commercial financial support and challenge to senior customers within our business. The consultant role forms part of this team, providing financial support and analysis, for the purposes of facilitating commercial and strategic decision making. This support is provided to business stakeholders, Business Partners and the CFO, focused on working closely with the Adviser business and the broader Finance function. The role operates as a member of this team and includes active participation in senior stakeholder meetings. The team provides critical support and analysis to our Business Partners and senior business stakeholders who are operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
About the role: The incumbent of this role will work closely with colleagues and the key business stakeholders to support commercial and strategic decision making, helping to ensure commercial objectives are met. Responsibility will include working with colleagues to deliver a consistent and high-quality approach to the production of insight and information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing financial modelling and analysis to support key commercial and strategic decision making covering a range of initiatives. Approach and techniques will include performing market analysis, performance tracking, business intelligence, and planning and forecasting.
- Providing and evaluating non-routine analysis of financial performance, trends and variance analysis, with supporting improvement recommendations. Key outputs include financial analysis to support leadership reviews.
- Supporting the automation of routine analysis by facilitating the incorporation of procedures within Financial Operations and Reporting.
- Working closely with the accounting team to ensure that new business initiatives are supported by appropriate technical opinions and consequent financial accounting records and representation in the general ledger is correct.
- Embracing new technologies to increase productivity by developing automated reporting and analysis tools.
- Demonstrating robust modelling by ensuring analysis is drawn from robust data sources and contains appropriate control and validation steps.
